Shows!

I've been watching this HBO mini series about WWII called 'The Pacific'.

It's about the US Marines then going into war, to this place in the Pacific (where Japan at that time were in control of the biggest 'empire' of in the history of mankind) called Guadacanal Island.
They were only told that the Japs were building an air field there and once finished, it would effectively cut off all communication between US and Australia.

These Marines were sent in with old weapons, not enough ammo and were outnumbered by the Japanese on the island.

On their first night there, they were treated to a night-time bombing show between the Japs and the US battleships in the sea (they were camping on the shore). They thought the US was winning but the next morning they found all signs of US battleships gone!
They had to retreat because the Japanese were too strong.

The story goes on like that and it's very interesting to see how different the Marines were in the old days and now, but nothing much has changed.

The US Army always has the newer weapons and equipments but Marines always have to 'make do'.
But the difference is the more 'macho-ness' exhibited in modern times.
They're more tough, physically and mentally (because of violent video games this generation has grown up with and of culture and etc) and of course, the US was not ready for war when they first entered it, at all.

This is a shot taken when they were just about to reach the Guadacanal Island shore on a small barge-thing.

So much more 'skinny' looking then the modern marines. Haha.

So my sister asked me if I wanted to buy The Pacific book.

And I bought it! Buy the book now got free lanyard or folder (my sister chose the folder for me - it's made of cardboard with geographical contour patterns all over it like a map), and it costs about S$35.

I shall read it and tell y'all more about it.

Hopefully it's as good, or maybe better than Gen Kill. Although I think Gen Kill is better.

Plus, after watching this Korean show called 'Exploration of the Human Body' that Dian introduced to me, I really want to try laughing gas! They say it's safe now and it's not addictive, so I really want to try!
And the show is really funny.

They were wearing ballerina tights to show how 'spotting' can prevent you from feeling dizzy after being spun around like 30 times. And they're not afraid to make fun of themselves!! They were dancing to this Wonder Girl song called 'Tell Me'. Impromptu. HAHA!
My sister wasn't feeling well yesterday and slept very early but I stayed up to watch the show and I kept laughing!
HAHAHAHA!

Dian and I like the last guy on the left (Kibum) and the third guy from the right (Shiwon)! Not very clear here but they look not bad, actually.

Shiwon! <3
Tan Wen Er, stop being into Korean man. Tsk.

His reaction when he ate the Habanero (Mexican Pepper - World's 2nd most hot chilli) and he can't take spicy food!
Omg the eyebrows damn funny! He looked like he had an internal explosion, haha. So anime, the eyebrows. Like use marker to draw strokes. HA!

I also like this funny but always act serious guy called Yesung and this fat guy called Shin Dong really reminds me of Fatty!
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.

Not so clear here. A fairer version of Fatty.

Hi Fatty/Boomer!

Kibum showing how he can cry within seconds. The topic was on where are tears formed.

This is a challenge to see if mouth to mouth passing of air can save a person underwater! So these Korean men who are known to have huge egos and pride had to 'kiss' one another, multiple times to pass air! HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Somehow I find this gayness a bit hot. LOL.

Student Feedback Time.

I just received the student feedback form for the teachers. This is what I wrote for my Prof G.

"He speaks very well and at least he tries to keep his lectures interesting. And he dresses very nicely (like a real professor although I'm not saying others who don't dress formally with a tie is not a real professor, haha!) And he is very polite and charming <3"

And this is what I wrote for my Human Mot lecturer/tutor.

"Stop giving 'very good' or 'very nice' as comments when the grades you give don't reflect them because it keeps our hopes up and when we see our own grades in the final exams it's damn disappointing! And stop giving us so many assignments and critiques! Coursework overload! And in the graded assignments when I thought I anyhow do it, I scored better than I really put in effort for the next one. It is very unclear what you actually look for in answers, even if you gave the answer sheet."

Ugh.

Nothing Like A Good Cup Of Joe.

Yuhoo!

New promotional poster for TB Season 3!

Nice.

I really like the new lesbian angle they're putting on Katherine in Desperate Housewives.

That's her horrified look after she had sex with Robin.
According to her reaction, it must have been sinfully good, hahaha!

"People just stopped seeing me as the crazy lady on the street, I'm not ready for them to start seeing me as the middle-aged lesbian, okay?"
- Katherine to Mrs McCluskey.

I'm feeling extremely bored with tonnes of homework to do but I can't put myself to start doing it.
I'm so sick of a few of my modules. Tsk.

So that day on Channel 5 they were showing about asking people to celebrate Woman's Day because we're not only mothers, but daughters, housewives, breadwinners, etc etc...(Okay not in my case yet but you know) and my sister's husband was commenting like how about men.
Why isn't there a day to celebrate the achievements of men?

Well, it is true that woman have to juggle loads more than men.
And if you try and argue that men have more pressure in life and etc, please stop and think, did you ever have to worry about not bringing sanitary pads in your bag when your period comes?

Or when you reach puberty and your siblings/boys in school laughed at you because your breasts are showing?

Or worry like mad about maybe last month you had sex with your boyfriend and you've missed your period by a few weeks and you're totally not ready to start a family? (You can say that they could have used a condom but whatever, unplanned pregnancies usually ruins a woman's life more than a man's.)

Or whether your husband will get turned off by your stretch marks after giving birth or during that 9 months of pregnancy have the urge to cheat?

Don't give me the bullcrap that women worry too much.
We only worry so much because the men in their lives give them so many reasons to.

Or, how about you consider that for the past freaking don't know how many centuries the female gender has been persecuted for being vixens/witches and being 'dirty'(during her menstrual period), got our feet bound until it rot (in the case of China), got put rings around the neck because culturally it looks beautiful, or have to endure wearing those clothes that covers every part of the body except the eyes when you live in a desert/hot country (in the case of certain muslims), which maybe they're willing to, because they were brainwashed that it's 'right' for women to do so since young, or got burned in some Arabic towns because their sleeves accidentally revealed the skin on their wrists, or let stupid men have harems of wives and mistresses and make you feel like second class citizens, which they're mostly considered as!

The list goes on.

Don't even start saying that some countries are still very traditional and it's only because I'm born in a more 'liberal' country where women have more rights now that I think this way.

If it weren't for people(especially women) who argue for their own gender like I am now, I'd still be a second or third wife or maybe if I'm lucky, a first wife with feet bound like a 'golden lily' that kills me when I try to walk.
I can't even try to escape because it hurts!
(It's one of the conspiracies which I believe why Chinese men made up the idea of binding women's feet, so they can't escape from serving their husbands and have to face 3/more other wives and chalk it up to looking more 'beautiful' and fragile to boost their bloody ego at being the 'Protector' in the household.)

And I especially cannot stand it when sometimes men start arguing how unfair it is when women usually win those sexual harassment cases when they're like honey traps in the first place or whatever, to get the money that they win in the case after the lawsuit against the 'innocent' guy.

Really, suck it up and be a man.

Sure, it's just your luck if you got into this kind of trouble, even when you really didn't harass her in the first place, but HELLO!

It's just losing money. And maybe a few jobs because it's reflected in your criminal record and etc, but what about the thousands of times women had to endure from men harassing women!! Or the hardships men put us all through throughout these few millenia?!

So I was reading the NTU Tribune or whatever it's called and it was on a story about some Malaysian Chinese guy who is sentenced to death because he was found with 47g (I think) of Heroin that was wrapped nicely like a present to be sent to his boss.

Okay, I know it's a strong deterrence for drug traffickers with this strict law, but sometimes I really wished that Singapore would focus more strict laws on other important things.

Let's talk about kidnapping. I know kidnappers get the death penalty, and they probably started this law because they wanted to deter people from kidnapping some Minister's son or daughter (so hurray for the common folk too) but what about the rapists!!!?

The assholes that ruined a woman, psychologically and emotionally and sometimes physically for the rest of her (and maybe sometimes his) life!

The most is like 24 years or whatever. And caning.

That's not a strong enough deterrence!

Dian and I suggest castration!

Not even the chemical castration k. That's too bloody lenient.
To part these bastards of the very tool they used with their torture towards innocent women. And no arguing that sometimes they might have deserved it because they dressed skimpily or went home late, no one deserves such humiliating treatment.

See whether still got idiots want to attempt raping in Singapore!
Better yet, instill this law to every freaking country!

The idea men get when they want to attempt raping will surely be deterred!

And! That day I saw on the news that 3 women were caned for committing adultery and had children outside marriage in Malaysia!
Okay, maybe they were wrong to do so but I tried googling 'punishment for men who commit adultery in Malaysia' and I came up with nothing.

Maybe it's a Muslim law or whatever, but hello!
WHERE'S THE BLOODY JUSTICE!?

Doesn't it sound the least bit warped to you? This law?
Is it me or does it feel like there's double standards?
I just feel that women in such countries should rise up and let their voices be heard.

It's damn irritating. Women who don't get appreciated for what they've sacrificed for men.

And not that I have anything against my sister's husband, but on another night when we had dinner and we were talking about gross habits and my sister's husband was commenting about my sister sometimes leaving her used pad in the toilet (which I presumed would be wrapped up already).

That got me slightly defensive, I mean, what about all the other times that most men 'forget' to put down the toilet seat? Hello, there's a woman in the house!!!! Like your wife or mother?!
Why can't all men be as considerate as Bruce Almighty is!

You can argue that forgetting to put down the toilet seat is much more hygienic than leaving your pad in the toilet (with the dried blood).

You're wrong.

Ever thought of all the nasty early morning still-too-sleepy-to-aim-properly moments?

How about the next time your wife or you yourself when you forget to put down the toilet seat(and this might have happened to you too) and you sat right down on the bowl without the seat on with all the dried up pee stains and disgusting bacteria!?

Or like my father who God knows why (if there's one), bathes with the freaking toilet door open with clear view for the next block neighbours and my poor niece Hele and sometimes me (the horror!), to see his brown and furry glory!?

YUCKS!

I'm not saying women do no wrong, but when you put all the arguments together, I really reckon that men should learn to appreciate women more.
And in all my arguments in this post about 'you', is not really pointing at the reader, but maybe men in general who are guilty for all these things.

And Fatty wonders why I like women too.

Maybe it's because sometimes women need a break from all these extra male disgusting habits.

TEAM TRUE BLOOD!

I seriously hate the whole hoohaa over Twilight and it's franchise, the people can't act and the storyline is freaking stupid.

Anyway, I can't stand Kristen Stewart!

I saw a video of her doing a speech with Dakota Fanning and she kept fidgeting, swaying about on the spot, smoothing her hair back, and she always wear like damn anyhow at red carpet events!

And omg, look at this poster.
What's up with her sleepy eyes?!

DIE, TWILIGHT, DIE!

Yucks.

HEARTS BURST INTO FIRE.

OMG!!!!!

Dian called me and told me she found out that Prof P has a facebook account!

And she found this out because he commented on her other friend who wrote her status in Korean or something!

So I searched for him and I found it!

And I added him.
I'm quite sure he'll reject the request.

Number one, I don't think he'll remember who I am and number two, even if he does, my profile blocks public viewing and my name is in the opposite form on fb.

So I decided to try my luck on Prof G. I mean, I tried finding him on fb last time and I couldn't, but I persevered and searched a few more pages and I found him!

Damn cute.

I'm thinking of adding him after exams. Like add now then I make mistakes in class will be damn embarrassing if he does add me in fb. HAHAHAHA.

AND OMG!

I just remembered that Dian and I had stayover pics that had us holding a paper with the words, "PATTERSON WE LOVE YOU" on it!

Lucky I remembered and deleted it.

But he might not even add me, so okay Ms Tan, calm down.

I HEART PROF G. TO BITS AND PIECES.

Today my extra charming Biopsych professor was totally gentlemanly when someone dropped her metal pencil case and it made a lot of noise.

He gave a short laugh and said, "It's okay, you can pick it up."

Don't ask me why but his old-man charm and laugh melted my heart and I was swooning for the next 5 minutes.
Couldn't even concentrate even though the topic was on Human and Sex.

Puss puss, Prof G.

"Dr. G received his BS in environmental science from East Stroudsburg University, USA in 1997. In 2001, he received an MS in animal behavior from Bucknell University, USA. In 2006, Dr. G was awarded a Ph.D. in biological psychology from the University of Georgia in Athens, USA. By training, Dr. G is a primatologist and his research focuses on the behavior and biology of non-human primates. After receiving his Ph.D., he worked as a postdoctoral fellow in neuroscience at Hiram College, USA. Dr. G holds memberships in several societies, including the Animal Behaviour Society, American Society of Primatologists, International Society of Primatologists, and the Primate Society of Japan. He is also on the Board of Directors for the Jane Goodall Institute’s Singaporean branch.

In 2003, he was awarded a Fulbright Graduate Fellowship to conduct research in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia on the social behavior and genetics of long-tailed macaques (Macaca fascicularis). During this time, Dr. G spent 15 months living in Tanjung Puting National Park with a group of wild macaques. Following his dissertational research, Dr. G was awarded the Best Graduate Level Paper at the 28th Annual Psi Chi Convention. In that same year, he was also awarded the American Society of Primatologists Student Travel Grant and the Walter Isaac Memorial Graduate Student Travel Award. In 2006, Dr. G was honored with Herbert Zimmer Research Award from the University of Georgia’s Psychology Department.

Dr. G obtained his first faculty position in the Division of Psychology in NTU’s School of Humanities and Social Sciences in August 2007. Since that time, Dr. G was awarded a Tier 1 grant from the Academic Research Fund Grant under the Ministry of Education in February 2008. This grant is to conduct behavioral and biological research on long-tailed macaques in Singapore, Thailand, and Indonesia. Dr. G teaches courses at NTU related to evolutionary, comparative, and biological psychology."

They say intelligence can be a very sexy thing.
He's so sexy I wanna pry open his skull and eat his brains.

And it's too bad that he's married.
But they also say that the unattainable is the most exciting to try to attain.

Okay, that's just weird.

I'm so going to take Evolutionary Psych next semester.
It's what most interested me when I first went into the NTU Psych webpage 1 and a half years ago.

It's even better that he's teaching it.

FAT MAMA!

A: Your mama's so fat, after sex, I rolled over twice, I was still on the bitch!

B: See, the problem is, I don't have a mama, me and my dad share yours.

Serious Comtemplation.

Bill's Lament.

I really wanna get the True Blood season one instrumental OST.

Nathan Barr is a genius.

I love the sound of a cello.

POOF!

Sam's Man-Bag.

Sam W's shirt seems a bit too small for him!

And look at the way he put his hands there, so auntie!
Doesn't suit his rough image, but I still like him! :)

I wanna get an iphone to play games. Tsk.
I should not have spent $473 on my stupid Nokia phone.

Stupid Stupid Stupid.

Human Branding.

I'm thinking of branding my wrists.

Seriously considering it.

OJ.

I should have gone on the Primate tour provided by my lecturer last Saturday.
Maximum have 25 people, turns out only 4 went.

It meant that I could have more one-on-one time with my Prof G.
Damn.

<3 <3 <3

He said bye to me today, with a smile.

How can an old guy melt my heart, I'll never know.
HAHAHAHA.

And on another note, I want to have orange highlights on my hair.

Anyone interested to share the rest of the bottle of orange hair dye with me?

Hola Columbia!

I watched Green Zone with my mom on Friday and I loved it!

Okay, admittedly it wasn't as good as Hurt Locker, or Gen Kill, but I'm thinking of buying the book it's based on!

Yesterday I went to watch Alice in Wonderland with Tracy and her sisters and after that we celebrated Fatty's belated birthday at this place near Fullerton called Overeasy.
The food was not bad and after that Fatty brought us to a Cuban pub/club called Cuban Libre!

For those who doesn't know, Cubans speak Spanish too and they had Cuban music playing.

I was goofing off trying to dance (for those that hasn't seen me dance, I suggest you never to stand near me because I dance like Andy Bellefleur) and this really tall woman in a low cut red spagetti top came over and tried to dance with me.

And guess what. Her boobs were right smack in my face (I'm short, I know) and they were...HUMUNGOUS.

Serious.

Huge.

Fatty was asking if she's a transverstite.

After a while, she couldn't stand the way I was dancing and she was trying to teach me how to move my hips, hahahahaha!

And after that she said in Spanish, "I'm sorry but I don't speak any English. I only speak Spanish."

Then I replied her in Spanish, "Oh, what's your name?"

She had a very surprised look and she asked if I spoke Spanish. I told her a little and she introduced me to her other friend. She said she's from Columbia (also a Spanish-speaking country) and her name's Natalia.

It's quite fun because I could understand her and I'm quite glad I took up Spanish.
And the menu had Spanish dishes, so I could read what's on the menu too, without looking at the English words below.

:)

I HEART FLASHERS.

I LOL-ed when he flashed this sign at the AAs.

And I laughed even harder when the cameraman quickly switched views to a view of the audience.

I totally love Ric O' Barry.
He's outrageous.

Lost And Found.

I have finally found it!

This song by Celine Dion that I saw once on television more than 10 years ago (her music video) and it has been in my memory ever since.

The song is called 'It's All Coming Back To Me Now'.

It's about her remembering her dead lover (who evilly comes back to haunt her) who died in a motorcycle car crash.

Very sad!

And! The guy acting as her lover looks like my favourite Alexander Skarsgard!

And that day I was watching the Academy Awards and my other favourite, Mr Sam Worthington came out wearing a normal black suit and when he was presenting some award with some other woman he took out his specs and wore it!
DAMN CUTE!
I must find a photo of him wearing it and show y'all.

Plus he was chewing gum, I kinda felt it was quite irritating of him to chew his gum while presenting some award but he's so cute I shall pardon him for that. HAHAHA.
And omg his Australian accent.

Normally I wouldn't like it, but in his case...I've never heard him speaking like an Australian before, because all his movies he had to have an American accent.

Nice hair.

I'm feeling a bit envious of that woman standing beside him.

Look at him!
Leaning over to speak into the mic. Damn funny the pose.

Can't wait to watch Clash of the Titans.

What Have I Been Missing!?!

I was just youtubing old classics, or sorta old..when I saw this video of Shania Twain, singing 'From This Moment' and omg she look freaking hot/beautiful in the music video!

I seldom would say anyone being beautiful, she sorta reminds me of Mord Sith Cara, and I was transfixed by her face, her body and her, I don't know, her everything, when I was watching the video!

Just imagine Mord Sith Cara being a brunette.
And being thinner, slightly.

The photo don't do her justice, you really must go see the video.
It's breath-taking.
Or maybe it's because I wasn't expecting it. I've always known she's pretty, but!

And in 'You Got A Way', a song from this movie called Notting Hill (I hate that Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts, I don't know why people think Hugh Grant is good looking. YUCKS!)

Where got singer so beautiful one!!!?

Don't tell me Britney Spears or or..Christina Aguilera or whatever k.
They can't compare to her perfect features of classic beauty.

And in 'Man, I Feel Like A Woman', omg, her makeup and clothes, freaking hot.

I can't stand the men behind her though.

I hated this song last time, but I remember her looking real fine.

Notice that during the course of the video she wears lesser and lesser clothes.
Yum.

And in another song called 'Don't', I found out she's got the perfect boobs!
Serious. Okay, my kind of perfect.
The right size, firmness. You can also see the shape in the 'From This Moment' video.
I better stop, if not I'd be labelled a pervert.
But really, in the video she's like riding a horse and because she's wearing a corset dress...

Anyway, the most recently I've seen her was during the American Idol auditions, I was shocked at how much she's aged!
Yes, I know these songs were about 10+/- years ago, so naturally she looks older.
It's just a bit sad to see a face like hers being a thing of the past, not that she's ugly now.
I'm talking about youth.

Hmm.

And of course, her voice is unique too.
Me suddenly like country music.

Sgt. Brad Colbert would hate me.

PLEASE?

Has anyone ever noticed that Timbaland only sang, "A...A...A...A..." in the Timbaland - Apologize feat OneRepublic song?

So dumb.

And! You know what?

I'm like the most unlucky/lucky person, ever.

Firstly, remember I told y'all about the Econs presentation I have to do? Well, actually we're just presenting the answers for the tutorial worksheet questions.
And you know I haven't taken Econs before, and the lectures always have a lot of people and that time when I went in from the front I freezed for about 15 seconds because I was having that social-phobia-Spotlight-Effect moment until I managed to quickly look away and find a seat, so I haven't been to any lectures, except for that one.

Anyway, yes, it turns out like 3 people I know of took it last Sem, so I borrowed Tracy's notes and tutorial question answers and Dian borrowed Silvia's.

Turns out I stupidly chose the week after recess, which is this week to present and it is after recess that Silvia stopped doing the tutorials last sem. Shit.
So no answers.

And the worst thing was that I used Tracy's tutorial worksheet to do the questions and I only found out today that the stupid Econs tutor changed the questions, for the tutorials after recess week! So my last question is totally different, (luckily I decided to google for answers to check with my own) and I found the exact question's answers online! :D

Hope tomorrow he'll let me choose that question to present. Ugh.

Yesterday I was asking my dad to fetch me to school today and the conversation went on like this.

Me: PA! CAN FETCH ME TO SCHOOL PLEASE!!!?"
Dad: No.
Me: PLLLLLLLEASEEEE!
Dad: No!
Me: PLLLLLLLLLEEEEEAAASSSSSEEEE!
Dad: Don't make so much noise la...
Me: Pa, my 'PLEASE!!!' will go higher and higher in pitch until you say okay!
(and I screeched to demo) PLEEEEEEEAAAAAAASSSSE!

At this point my father starting walking away from me doing his things and was giving me the annoyed face and each subsequent 'PLEASE!!!!!!!!!' of mine was higher and higher. My sister was laughing in the room.

Dad: I'm very irritating by you, you know!
Me: Pa, actually the correct tense in this case would be 'irritated'. (my sister laughed louder when she heard me)
PLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAASSSSSSEEEEE!
(my throat was beginning to struggle with the pitch already)

My father gave a loud "TSK!" and he went into the toilet.

After that I went into the room and I was laughing with my sister about how irritating I was.

Me: Maybe later he'll come in and say(imitating his grumpy voice), "Tomorrow what time!?"

And right on cue about 1 minute later he opened the door and shouted(in that exact same tone I imitated),
"You better sleep early! Tomorrow what time?!"
