Okay, so I posted this status about my father's disgusting habits on my Facebook yesterday.
And apparently, Sidney's colleague/friend/gym buddy (er, it's just one person, but he's all 3) thought I'm being very inappropriate.
By posting that.
On my FB.
As my status.
Maybe I can't take criticisms or whatever, but who likes to be criticised right?
But you get the irony?
His friend feels I'm being inappropriate?
ME?!
INAPPROPRIATE?
ME?!?!?!
All right, I'll agree that no one likes being "fibbed" on on a social networking site, for your daughter's friends/acquaintances (now that I mention the word 'acquaintances', time for my quarterly FB housekeeping on my friends' list) to know all your very disgusting habits.
Sidney said I should be aware of what I do/say as it reflects badly on me and my father.
If I'm not happy with my dad, I should tell him.
WELL, I DID.
I've been telling him this for years.
To stop peeing with the toilet door wide open, or even worse, bathing with the door ajar!
But he doesn't think it's anything wrong.
I was brushing my teeth halfway in the toilet yesterday and mind you, my current house's toilet is FREAKING small, so he had to squeeze past me to get into the toilet and pee.
I was mad with fury and amidst trying to shout and protest with my mouth full of toothpaste froth, and a huge Oral B toothbrush, he kept saying, "WHAT!? I just shh-shh (pee-ing) what."
Yeah, with me there?!
Right beside you!?
I mean, there's a reason why male and female toilets are separated in Public right?
And within each toilet, cubicles are separated with WALLS.
Okay! If it's nothing to you, then it's okay with you if I post it on my FB right!?
And please, have some humour la okay.
My dad is not on my FB list, so I'm not doing any disservice to him.
Plus, my profile cannot be viewed by people I don't know.
Although, if my friends/acquaintances think it's funny/gross/inappropriate of me to have done this, then they could take a snapshot and post on the Internet or something.
But imagine waking up in the morning, wanting to go release your internal dam that is at it's bursting point, and you're halfway in the toilet when you see your dad's P3N!$.
Although he was trying to hide it at that point.
BUT STILL!?
Which brings us back to the topic.
Being...
ME?!
INAPPROPRIATE?!
Anyway, I did this because I thought it's not only a "toilet-humour" (get the pun), but also to vent my frustrations.
At least, I don't curse and swear at my dad about doing all these things as my status right?
And why doesn't it reflect well on me?
I'm the victim here!
A victim who is trying to be proactive about it!
I mean, if you don't like my status, then ignore it la.
Am I doing any disservice to you if I would like to share about my frustrations of living with my dad for these past 23 years, and his disgusting habits, which I must add, he thinks is nothing bad, at all!
I can also give an example.
You all know I don't believe in God right?
Or if there really was one, then I MUST see him to believe he actually exist.
I also don't trust Religions.
Why should there be books to give dire warnings about non-believers that they'll suffer and not be pardoned, if they didn't believe in your God?
Also, if there is a God, why must your God be your own race's skin colour?
And if there is a God, he should have known he made men and women to have free will to choose to believe him or not, and also NOT punish people regardless of not worshipping him and whatnot.
He/She, also would know if he's not ever-visible to human eyes, then some "I-must-see-it-to-believe-it" people (like me), sure can't believe in him right?!
And etcetera, etcetera.
Seriously!
Okay, the thing is, I respect everyone's choice in faiths and beliefs.
Back to the point I was getting at.
For example, I have to admit sometimes I can't stand it when some of my friends on FB say things like "God, help me be thankful for what I am today", or like "God will pardon people who believe in Him".
I can find it very inappropriate also what!
Inappropriate to my own beliefs!
So, what do I do?
Tell others about how inappropriate it is?
No!
I either delete them on my FB (if it's like a daily "I LOVE YOU, GOD!" fanatical kind of person) or I just hide those posts.
I don't tell others they're inappropriate for doing it because it's their own beliefs, their own FB status and wall, they can choose what to write, right?!
Just ignore it, if you're uncomfortable!
I don't need your approval to know what to write on my wall right?
The thing is, why do you need God to help you to feel thankful?
I feel thankful and grateful to my parents for providing for me for my whole life.
I also feel thankful to be born in a middle-class family in a safe country like Singapore.
I don't need a higher being to 'help' me be thankful...
So why do they need it?
Maybe I should attend Church one day, and see if I feel more thankful about my life.
I don't know if going to the Temple will help, because it always make me sort of regret going there after seeing all that incense burning which adds to the Greenhouse Effect, and the smell stays on my clothes. Also, half the time, I'm choking from the fumes...
Maybe Sidney's friend feels I'm giving too much information about my family.
That should be kept quiet.
Behind the windows.
Because you don't air the dirty linen in public right?
But I like sharing such stupid things.
It makes me feel slightly happier (by getting back at them), and I think it's quite funny, in a sick humour kind of way.
Although you might disagree.
Then by all means,
