Tell you all something.
But don't spread this around because I think I know who are the few people whom actually reads my blog okay!!!!!
So if someone else close to me whom I don't want to share this with, asks me about what I'm going to complain about next,
I KNOW IT'S YOU WHO TOLD HIM/HER.
Anyway...
During the start of April, Sid asked if I wanted to apply for a BTO (Build-to-Order) flat that's coming out in Clementi in April.
Who knew the process was so difficult and that so many people would apply for it!
We're not thinking about anything serious, he didn't proposed, and we were just thinking of applying, for fun.
Because I think Clementi is a good location for a flat, and also, it's close to both of our parents' home.
I also think that it is very good timing for me, because by the time it's built, it'll be about 2015-2016, which is when I want to MOVE OUT.
Honestly, I know about all the conveniences you have when you live with your parents, living on your own in your own house is costly and takes a lot of effort, but I sometimes really hate living with my family.
All the nasty habits and stuff.
I'm not saying I don't have bad habits, but I don't want to continue seeing my dad's p3n!$ when I'm 28 or whatever okay. (He pees with the door open and when he bathes, he don't close the door!!!!!!!)
And more stuff like that...
Also, I hate to be lovey-dovey or mushy and whatnot, but I think Sidney is a good person for me and is very compatible with me :)
OKAY BACK TO THE STORY.
So that day when the HDB website opened for application, we tried to go in an apply.
Surprise, surprise, the website was jammed like hell and took forever to load each page because a lot of other people were trying to log in to the damn website as well.
Anyway, we managed to apply and last Friday we got the result.
It was also the day that Sid and I watch the movie Battleship in JCube's IMAX theatre and I will continue to complain about that experience after this.
Sid's good friend also applied for the Clementi flat, but he applied for the 5-room one, whereas Sid and I applied for the 4-room flat.
Sid's friend told us about the release of results and he got a ballot number of about 500+. There are only 200+ 5-room flats.
And guess what number Sid and I got???
NONE.
The freaking idiots made us pay $10 (I think) and just told us we were unsuccessful!
WA LAO! I pay you some money, I rather get a number like 1084 than none okay!
And we had 4 chances, because we are first-time applicants and also, the new flats would be in close proximity to our parents.
Sid's friend only had 2 chances (first-time applicants).
And you know what?
There were only 317 4-room flats available, but over 1300+++ people applied for it.
Clementi was the area which was most popular.
I was totally turned off and upset loh!
NO NUMBER!
EEYER!!!!!!!
So angry.
Then Sid was checking his FB when he saw his friend announced on his FB status that he's going to be a new resident in Clementi.
SHUT UP!
So irritating.
That guy got number 10 you know!
WE HAD NO NUMBER!!!!!
NONE!!!!!!!
ARGH.
You might say, aiya, 1000 is same as unsuccessful what...
But did you know, I kept thinking about the worst-case scenario, and imagining our ballot number for a while, like 687, or 879, or 1317, and this totally blindsided me that I got no number at all.
So bad!
Sid's friend got 500++ number lo! And that's far from the number of available flats what!
So turn off!!!!!
This HDB earned like damn a lot of people's money from applying and not getting a number at all!!!!
Can you hear my screams right now?
Anyway, the IMAX experience at JCube was quite disappointing.
Not because of the movie, it was okay, but the IMAX theatre is damn pathetic, I think it only has about 7-8 rows....
Smaller than normal theatre size right?!
And I think we sat 1 row too near to the front, my neck hurt from looking at the huge screen...
Also, I find that because the screen was so huge, it's hard for people to get a sense of the action when they're focussed on the wrong part of the screen.
Especially when the movie involves a lot of action and fast-moving scenes, so the focal point will change very often.
I also don't know if more than half the population of Singaporeans are deaf or what, but the damn IMAX speakers were too bloody loud!
I was damn busying trying to spot the action on the huge screen, and exclaiming and trying to cover my ears when the loud scenes suddenly came out and started blasting my ear drums....!
Very pain you know!
And the worst thing was that, I was trying to see if other people in the theatre found it loud, but no one was covering their ears!
Sid as usual, being very uncle, suggested we stuff tissue paper into our ears to deafen the sounds and it worked.
HAHA.
We're such losers right.
All in all, I really find that the IMAX experience sucked at JCube...
I've not tried other IMAX theatres before, but IMAX tickets costs 2 times the normal ticket price, and I don't find the experience twice the amount of enjoyment of when you go to a normal theatre and watch a movie, so it's really not worth it, when I think about it...
Sid said I have very low tolerance for smells, sounds and everything.
He told me he found it very loud but didn't have the same outraged reaction like I did.
HAHAHA!!!!!!!
Honestly, I enjoy doing such things.
Like make my displeasure very obvious when someone near me is very smelly, or when sounds are super loud for no reason, and partly it's also to embarrass my friends when they're with me, HA!!!
So funny.
